Attorney Darnell Wilson

My name is Darnell Wilson, Principal and Owner of the Wilson Law Practice, LLC. and I’d like to tell you a little about myself! I was born in Hamilton, Ohio, which is about 40 minutes north of Cincinnati. I grew up in the northern Cincinnati suburb of Forest Park. I am a United States veteran, having served with distinction in the United States Air Force during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. I am the second of four children, two boys and then two girls.

I have three children (two adult daughters and and one son, who is ten years old as I type this bio). Both of my wonderful daughters are currently involved with the firm in various capacities. My son has also proclaimed that he wants to be an attorney so we can work together one day. I am building this practice with the intent of seeing that happen.

My parents worked very hard to provide for our family. My father worked full-time, plus countless double shifts, in a steel mill for over 30 years. My mother focused primarily on the family, which was a full-time job by itself. She also worked full-time in the food services industry. They somehow found a way to make it work and pulled the family through. I didn’t know it at the time, but my blue-collar upbringing would one day play a central role in shaping my views as a legal professional.

My personal experiences as an adult also play a major part in shaping my vision for this firm. Looking back over many years, and with hindsight to help in my review, I cannot count the number of times that I experienced some type of legal issue that I really had no idea how to handle. I know I am not alone, as studies indicate that conservatively speaking, at least half of all households experience at least one legal issue/matter/headache in a given year with, not surprisingly, some households experiencing multiple legal issues during the same period. What does this mean? The market for personal legal services is very, very large.

Yet, despite the need, the overwhelming majority of people choose to handle legal issues without seeking legal advice from an attorney. The reasons behind this are numerous, but all reasons point primarily two problems. The first problem is ongoing challenges with  legal services delivery. Legal professionals are not effectively reaching the segment of our population that need our services most and/or are not offering legal services in a manner that compliments the purchasing patterns and consumption habits of people in this market.

The second issue, although to a lesser extent, is perception problems (insert good lawyer joke here).  Maybe from pop culture or perhaps stemming from the actions of a few "bad apples" here and there, people have developed an almost natural reluctance to even speak to an attorney about a legal issue. This pattern fuels a cycle of a large market going without legal counsel, while at the same time, many attorneys report struggles with being either unemployed or under-employed. That just doesn't make sense to me. The good news is that these issues can be addressed and corrected by a law practice operating a business model designed from the ground up to bring law (back) to the people.  That’s why I started this practice.

The first part of the Wilson Law Purpose Statement is “To Empower our Clients.” At Wilson Law, we accomplish this purpose by, figuratively speaking, meeting clients where they are. We utilize a general practice approach, meaning we serve client needs in one of five general practice areas: Estate matters, Employment matters, Family matters, Civil matters, and Criminal matters; We are always happy to discuss your issue and offer free telephone and e-mail initial consultations.

Additionally, we meet clients where they are by understanding not all clients require the same level of attorney/client engagement. This is the idea behind our concept of “One Firm. Three Ways to Engage.” Whether you need limited legal representation (Wilson Law Direct), full-service representation (Wilson Law Complete), or are interested in pursuing an ongoing, long-term strategic partnership with the firm (Wilson Law Platinum Plus), we’ve got you covered.

I appreciate you taking the time to visit our website and hope you find the information you are seeking. If we can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience.

Best Wishes.
